Brookings-Harbor, Oregon is really two cities. Often referred to just as " Brookings", Brookings-Harbor is the Souths Coast's largest and most southern metropolis, figuring close to 10,000 residents. Situated in Oregon's "Banana Belt", Brookings- Harbor enjoys hot, sunny weather thats is often likened to that of the Mediterranean Coast. The two cities are approximately six miles from the California boarder.

The Chetco River, which runs between Brookings and Harbor, is a favorite locale spot for fishing for Chinook, Cutthroat and Steelhead. Fishing tours can be arranged at the Port of Brookings, at the south side of town. The Port also has several gift shops, cafes and restaurants on site, providing a perfect setting for afternoon shopping or a leisurely stroll.
